Physical Therapist
I was born and raised in the West Valley near Calabasas. Growing up I spent most of my time outside playing with my brothers and neighbors and playing any sport with a ball until ultimately landing on soccer through part of high school. Through most of high school I ended up being a part of the track and field team which is when I began to develop a real passion for running. After finishing Physical Therapy school I fell in love with triathlons and since have used them as a way to remain competitive and push my fitness regularly. Most of my free time is spent biking or running in the community. When able I also love spending time in the mountains skiing and enjoying the snow.
After receiving my B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior at UC Davis I proceeded to return to school for my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Rocky Mountain University in Provo,Utah. While in Utah I was able to serve the local underserved populations in pro bono clinics for sports related injuries which is when I began to spend most of my time treating and learning about running related injuries. I found that being able to educate and empower runners and athletes of all kinds to improve their understanding of the human body was where I found most success in returning these athletes to their sports.
Upon graduation I moved back closer to home in Santa Monica where I spent 2 years honing my skills working with runners and triathletes from recreational to professional to masters levels rehab and return to running. I integrate my knowledge of running related injuries with skills learned from many post Doctoral courses on manual therapy and exercise based rehab to treat this population. Being able to explain the way the human body works and adapts to the stresses we can put upon it is a powerful tool to return patients safely and efficiently back to running. When not at work or running, I enjoy spending my time going to UCLA football or basketball games, eating at local restaurants and spending time with my family and friends.
Recently I have been able to enjoy the local trails in Palos Verdes with my chocolate lab Zoey. I look forward to partnering with my future clients to return to running, biking, and swimming and having fun along the way!
