Performance Physical Therapist
Hi everyone! I was born and raised in Torrance before my family relocated to Vancouver, WA shortly after my 12th birthday. Throughout my youth I competed in multiple sports starting with F.O.R basketball here in the South Bay. Later down the road, I discovered my passion for both volleyball and CrossFit. Throughout my athletic years of chronic ankle sprains, body aches, and pains, I developed an interest in human movement and rehabilitation.
I received my bachelor’s degree in applied psychology at the Oregon Institute of Technology where I was offered an athletic scholarship to play on their volleyball team. After graduating, I became committed to helping youth athletes gain confidence and skill in the sport that had helped me grow into the person that I am today. While preparing my graduate school applications, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach for 2 years for a competitive club travel team. During this time is when I also discovered my love for functional fitness and CrossFit. I will be going into my 4th year as a member of the CrossFit community, and I love every minute of it.
I attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA where I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During my clinical experiences, I had the opportunity to see a variety of patients in multiple settings. However, I discovered a passion of mine was in working with active adults, youth athletes, and individuals who are looking to optimize their sports performance. I’m happy to have found myself back in my roots of Torrance and look forward to helping the community achieve their functional and fitness goals with the support of the amazing team here at The Movement Schopp!
