Dr. Ryan Stuhr

Dr. Ryan Stuhr-PT, DPT, TPI-M2

I was born and raised in Newport Beach, California, and have called Orange County home ever since. Growing up, I spent most of my time outdoors and played just about every sport I could, with football, basketball, tennis, and golf becoming my favorites. Staying active has always been a big part of who I am, so when I suffered a significant knee injury after my senior year of high school, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to lose the ability to do the things you love. My recovery following knee surgery introduced me to physical therapy and inspired me to pursue a career helping others regain that same freedom.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Chapman University; during that time I also worked as a personal trainer and volunteered in a variety of physical therapy settings. These experiences strengthened my interest in movement, exercise, and rehabilitation, and helped me discover my passion for orthopedics. I particularly enjoyed helping people build strength and confidence as they worked toward returning to their sport or daily routine.

I went on to earn my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California. During my time at USC, I had the opportunity to work with sports and orthopedic populations ranging from weekend warriors to professional athletes competing at the highest level. Those experiences helped shape my approach to care: understanding each person’s goals and building a plan that connects rehabilitation with the demands of their life and sport.

While in physical therapy school, my interest in golf became a full-blown passion and I haven’t put my clubs down since. I brought that enthusiasm into my professional life by becoming a Titleist Performance Institute certified medical provider. As both a golfer and a physical therapist, I understand how frustrating it can be when pain limits your swing, your practice, or your enjoyment of the game. I enjoy helping golfers move better, build strength, and return to the course with confidence.

I’m also an avid lifter and love helping people get back in the gym. Whether you’re working toward a new personal record, returning after an injury, or simply trying to train consistently without pain, I believe your rehabilitation should prepare you for the activities you want to do. My goal is to help you understand what you’re working on, why it matters, and how to continue making progress beyond our sessions.

If you’re a golfer or lifter who is serious about overcoming pain and improving your performance, I’d love to help you take the next step. Together, we’ll create a practical, personalized plan to help you move with confidence and get back to doing what you love.
