Dr. Trey Conroy

Dr. Trey Conroy-PT, DPT

Hi everyone! I was born and raised in New Jersey before moving to Texas where I completed my undergrad and PT education followed by a brief 2-year stint in Denver and ultimately winding up here in beautiful, sunny, Southern California. I played a wide range of sports growing up, but baseball was the one I fell in love with and played all through high school and for one year in junior college. It was also during this time that I began to develop a passion for exercise, movement, and human performance. My dad is a chiropractor but he also doubled as my coach/trainer growing up. So from a young age I was exposed to rehab exercises, strength and conditioning principles, and sport-specific training in addition to receiving hands-on treatment and recovery modalities. Seeing the blend of these two worlds played a large part in my wanting to pursue physical therapy as a career.

Between an ankle injury my freshman year of college and a move to Texas, my baseball career came to an end and the next step in my journey began. I would go on to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a Concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy and a minor in Psychology from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. I then spent some time working as a PT aide before going on to receive my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2022.

During my time in PT school, I had the opportunity to serve as the Student-Run Free Clinic Coordinator for our pro bono clinics, act as a sub-investigator in a research study on Blood-Flow Restriction training, and was selected for a clinical rotation with a minor league PT for the San Francisco Giants where I was able to get a glimpse into the world of professional sports rehab. Since graduating, I have continued to refine my craft through continued education and clinical mentoring. These experiences have all served as confirmation that I chose the right field as it has allowed me to follow my passion for helping others, embrace my appreciation for research and objective data to guide decisions, and continue to be a lifelong learner.

Outside of work, I have an amazing wife, Julie, and together we have a beautiful baby girl named Phoebe as well as two energetic corgis named Bentley and Millie. We love to travel and recently got back from Japan. We also enjoy trying different restaurants, bakeries, and cafes and going for hikes or walks at the beach. I can’t wait to work alongside you to achieve your goals and keep you performing at a high level.
